Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed during the month of May.

This month is designed to raise awareness to educate our communities about mental health and its importance. Just like how we take care of our physical health, we can do the same for our mental health.

By working with others to stop the stigma around mental health, we can encourage others to reach out if they are in need.

As a community, we can inspire more hope by learning why mental health matters and how we can play a part.

Understanding Mental Health

Our mental health is connected to our emotions and our overall well-being.

It’s important to see how we feel, think, and behave each day. When we put our mental health at the top of our to-do list, it can make an impact.

With positive mental health, we are able to have the tools to cope with stress and make meaningful connections.

Maintaining our mental health allows us to find a balance in our relationships, at work or school, and in our personal lives.

Taking Action

When it comes to stigma, there are many misunderstandings about mental health. This can create barriers for people who may not want to reach out due to misinformation.

We can take action and break down these barriers by doing our part. Whether it be volunteering, going on social media to spread awareness, or paying attention to your peers.

Want to talk about mental health? You can reach out to our counselors if you or someone you know is looking for help.
