Lauren Timmerman, LCSW
Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with a compassionate, gentle approach. Lauren is EMDR trained and has several years of clinical experience in supporting clients with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and negative body image.
Lauren graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Baylor University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, Lauren worked in residential, PHP/IOP, and outpatient settings, where the majority of her clients were adolescents experiencing eating disorders and comorbid mental health concerns. She has also provided school-based mental health services to children and adolescents.
Her therapeutic orientation is holistic, strengths-based, rooted in cognitive-behavioral theory, and eclectic/integrative, or blended with additional approaches in order to best serve each client. Lauren provides evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), in conjunction with humanistic approaches to create and empathic, authentic, and supportive environment.
Lauren is Family-Based Treatment (FBT) informed and certified in core Emotion- Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She is aims to provide a space for families to share with one another openly, honestly, and mindfully during family therapy while achieving their identified goals.
