Janika Filipe, AMFT, APCC
I work with clients across the lifespan, with a strong interest in supporting young children, new parents, adolescents, couples, and families. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University, with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling.
My work with children focuses on behavioral challenges, life transitions, neurodivergence, and social difficulties. I tailor each session to the child’s unique interests, strengths, and developmental needs. With extensive experience working with children across a variety of settings, I feel confident in my ability to meet each child where they are. With adolescents and adults, I focus on interpersonal concerns, anxiety, depression, and navigating major life transitions. My experience in community mental health has allowed me to support clients through many different life circumstances.
My clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, and a person-centered framework. I tailor treatment to each client’s individual goals, strengths, and lived experiences.
In my free time, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, baking, and planning my next outdoor adventure.
