Elisa Richards, AMFT #119036

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Under Licensed Supervision

Elisa is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, completing her education at John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA. She has worked in a variety of settings, which include a small boutique counseling center, an elementary school counseling program, and most recently at a non-profit counseling organization.

Elisa is passionate about helping individuals and families gain insight by providing evidence-based, culturally informed therapy. Her philosophy is to partner with clients, providing a non-judgmental space for learning and reflection, and creating an atmosphere where individuals can obtain optimal health and thrive.

Elisa’s specialty includes assisting clients with the stressors that come with major life changes. She is continually inspired by her clients’ resilience, with her motto being ‘resilience-based leadership’. Her philosophy is that as we learn different ways of dealing with the daily challenges presented to us in life, we are able to create new and different coping mechanisms that will serve us well over our lifetimes. These new skillsets allow us to become more resilient, creating leadership in ourselves and/or our family units.

In her spare time, Elisa enjoys taking walks with her pug by the beach and enjoying all the different experiences and opportunities life has to offer.
